With some container plants, you'll need to supplement/fertilize the soil as the plant can deplete the nutrients in the soil pretty quickly. I've found that to be true for petunias, in particular.

You could also grow chilies out there. Super easy to grow and will provide some color.

Full sun; very little shade.

Hi--what are some easy flowers/plants that I could grow in pots on my back deck? Adequate sunlight. I am looking for something easy and not necessarily flowers. Just greenery to enjoy before it becomes too hot and buggy to sit back there.
