+1. Everyone doing IVF (fresh or frozen) starts progesterone before pregnancy.

I don’t think 5dpo is too late but if this cycle doesn’t work for you, I’d definitely start it at 3dpo next cycle.

Yes. With both my successful pregnancies I used OTC progesterone (cream from GNC). I had a miscarriage between the kids when I didn't.

I always started on progesterone 3 DPO, but that was because I couldn't even get pregnant without it. My period would start around 8 or 9 DPO, which wasn't enough time for implantation. I still had a few miscarriages (all before 6 weeks) while on progesterone. I believe it helps thicken the uterine lining, so it's an easier target to catch the egg, so it'll catch the eggs that otherwise wouldn't have implanted, and stop growing after a few days. I've had two successful pregnancies on progesterone at age 30 and 32.

Yes. I did 3 cycles of letrozole, ovidrel shot and timed intercourse. My RE had me start 200mg of prometrium twice a day, starting at 3dpo. I got pregnant on my third cycle in February but unfortunately miscarried at 9 weeks a little over a week ago. If I hadn’t miscarried, she was going to keep me on it until 12 weeks.

Have had two miscarriages (age 43), I posted about that previously, but now have a question about progesterone. My regular dr had mentioned after the last miscarriage that I may want to start progesterone early -- after ovulation(previously I started progesterone after a positive pregnancy test). Now with all the virus stuff I can't really get a hold of him for a small question such as this. Has anyone done this with success? Any success stories or advice to give? Thanks!
