True, but these behaviors only affect the individual, whereas social distancing and vaccines affect others, as well.

Playdates with neighbors should not be happening. I agree that the risk is very low if both families work from home and only go to the grocery store or pharmacy very occasionally, using careful precautions.
However your risk of becoming infected rises very fast with each additional person you bring into your circle of confinement.
You need to trust that every person will exercise consistent good judgement 100% of the time. That's a HIGH bar, and therefore, you really don't want to add more people to your circle than you absolutely have to.
This is why governments around the world have ordered (or suggested) that social interaction be limited to one's own household.
