Why not just do the zoom or FaceTime date and drink a bottle of wine? Date won’t have to end when he needs to pee. Whole backyard plan sounds weird.

OP Here - Right?! I feel like that would be an issue, but there's something fun and exciting about the idea of getting to know someone this way where you're really forced to take things in a slow disciplined way which months ago generally wasn't the case.

I was going to say probably okay, but I'd worry more about someone in the medical field, who likely has a higher risk of exposure. There are parents living in trailers apart from their family members to avoid bringing something home.

Hopefully he's not coming from a hospital-type setting.

OP Here. HA! Good point. But he could have found that out anyway. He's in the medical field and was treating me back when I met him (so he has access to all my information) which is why no moves were made.

I went on a two hour bike ride date with a guy that I met in February and seem to be somewhat similarly situated as you, OP. We talked while riding next to each other from a safe distance.

I met a man back in Feb/Mar that I was really interested in. He just reached out me this weekend. We would like to get to know each other, but dating is basically impossible today, and the phone is only so great. I am taking social distancing very seriously. I only go to the grocery store when needed, wear a mask and gloves, and am always armed with hand sanitizer. So I don't take what is happening in the world lightly.

He and I came to what we think may be a good solution for a "date" this weekend and I need DCUM to tell me if this is acceptable or if I need to suck it up and just not go out with this incredibly handsome man until after this whole mess is over.

He would come to my house. We would sit in the backyard about 10 feet apart. Before he arrives I would disinfect his chair. It would be BYOB so we don't touch the same bottle or glass. As soon as he has to go to the bathroom the date would be over because he obviously would not come in my home.

What say you DCUM?
