Only Math, Science and Computer Science are taught at AOL. Courses like English, History, PE etc are taught at base school.

Why do they call it that? There's not such thing. I'm pretty sure you can get in trouble with Collegeboard if you give the AP label to classes that aren't audited to cover the AP curriculum properly.

I think they are overstating the difficulty level of the math course. They do not get calculus until 11th grade, so only some precalculus topics are covered. A decent amount of trigonometry, but not deep into all the identities.

AET Information Technology & Computer Science

This course is the first of the computer science courses specifically designed for AET IT
pathway students who wish to engage in an intensive study of computer science and
information technologies. It is designed for students with no programming experience.
The course will cover object-oriented programming, graphics and animation, GUI
interfaces, arrays and files, sorting, recursion and ethics. The programming language is
JAVA. All AET IT students will be required to design, develop and conduct multiple
programming and research projects while attending the Academies of Loudoun.

Does private school kids have a separate quota from Loudoun County schools? Or they go according to the future 9th grade Loudoun County school quota?

There is only one math class, so kids in algebra 2 in 8th grade will end up repeating material. You will take calculus earlier if you go to base high school as at AOS you must wait until 11th grade.

I agree. I have one child at AET and one child who went to AOS. However, the part about the math program is right. The program is awful and destroyed DCs interest in math.

AOS has its expertise and AET has its own expertise. Science and Engineering, respectively. You can't say AET is better than AOS just like that. Many people will argue that AOS is far superior.....again, it's totally subjective. AOS is definitely harder to get into ===> This is a fact!

My child got accepted to both AOS and AET. Which is a better school AOS or AET? Any insight will help.
Also, if we have picked one school over other, is there a way we can change our decision?
