Exactly! I think he is just loving having this control right now. He would never let me pay any bills! I think it’s just another control thing.

OP, why do you have to ask for a check if you have a joint bank account? And, who writes checks nowadays? It sounds like you gave your millionaire husband too much control to begin with.

He's stressed. This is not "how he actually is" any more than how we shop and cook is "how we actually are" right now. Cut him some slack. Ask him if he's stressed about your lack of income, thoughts of impending economic doom, etc. and tell him not to bark at you again. Be a spouse.
