UCLA got around 110,000 applications this year, and Berkeley got over 80,000. In 2019, UCLA's freshman acceptance rate was 12% and Berkeley's was 16%. No, a pulse and $30K will not get anyone in!

Easier admissions requirements /= more students in the university. There are only so many seats.
