I don't think my DH would want multiple wives. Now, multiple sex partners, that's probably a different answer.

Polygamy is a way different ball game than a guy wanting multiple relationships (polyamorous) or multiple sexual partners (non-monogamy).

Dudes who would be into polygamy are weirdo control freaks. There is usually some sort of power imbalance involved. You'd need to be on the sociopathic spectrum to be into polygamy, in my personal & non-scientific opinion.

I think a lot of men would be OK with physical-only non-monogamy for themselves. But I doubt most of them could handle it when the tables are turned and their wife is also non-monogamous.

I would be polyandrist if I could. DH says polygyny just sounds like a lot of work.

OMG, I'm a married guy and there is no way I could manage more than one significant relationship at a time. I struggle with one!

I am certain that a few of the men I know would thrive as polygamists.

Polygamy? Absolutely not. But I certainly like the fact that DW enjoys threesomes and group sex. 26 year old me thought I hit the lottery when she asked if I would be interested in it. (We had been dating about 6 months). 12 years later and I still count myself a lucky man

Watching Tiger King got me wondering about men- naturally are most men drawn to having multiple partners simultaneously? That would ensure sex throughout their lifetime and when one woman couldn't have sex- another one could step in and fill in the gaps. Is that the most natural arrangement?
