There has been a TON more petty crime in my neighborhood: car break ins, bike thefts, package thefts, etc.

They aren't tracking the petty stuff, nor is anyone reporting it.

Nextdoor neighbor is filled with instances of burglary.

I worry it will translate into more things like armed robbery in the future...

Where is ‘here’? I’m in the city and I’ve already noticed less loitering and issues with turf wars. I never had an issue with package or car thefts before though so...

NextDoor in the suburbs is always alive with posts about the ‘suspicious’ character just jogging through the neighborhood. With all the busybodies stuck home with nothing else to do I’m sure the ‘well I saw this person’ posts are surging left-and-right.

Clarendon. Package and bike thefts, car break-ins. Since I know the people personally, it's not just 'suspicion'.

Don’t know about Clarendon, but according to this site, crime in Arlington is down 46% compared to last month. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.spotcrime.com/us/va/arlington.html

The more you know. Have no idea if there is a similar U.S. option.

Continues to drop.

"...the Big Apple sees a significant downturn in crime, with a nearly 20-percent dip in major felonies over the past 28 days, compared with the same period last year, according to NYPD data released Monday.

Felony assaults were down by about 270, the report shows..."

France has been on lockdown longer than the U.S. and has seen a 30% rise in domestic violence calls. Zero calls for mass looting in Paris though. So maybe you all need to worry about your own homes.

There have been spikes in divorce rates across China after couples spent too much time together during the COVID-19 home quarantine', officials claim.

In Hubei province, the heart of the initial coronavirus outbreak, domestic violence reports to police more than tripled in one county alone during the lockdown in February, from 47 last year to 162 this year, activists told local media.

I remember threads inferring that cities would be turning into urban crime zones. It’s the opposite. Crime has disappeared while domestic violence calls in households everywhere has spiked.

"The foot traffic is almost nil at this point in time. Crime has dropped off the face of the map, quite frankly, since social distancing." - NYPD Police Commissioner Dermot Shea

Mother Jones has identified 13 cities and counties that have reported increases in emergency calls to 911 or domestic violence hotlines over the past month. Several places have seen double-digit increases
