A lot. And I’m not even working.

Trying to WFH and take care of my 3 year old. DH is "essential" (he's not, but another story), and daycare is closed. I allow 2 hours of Sesame Street in the morning, a couple of Thomas episodes after nap, and then troubleshoot from there. DS will happily watch Let's Make a Deal and Price is Right ("He won a car!") so I can get a couple more hours of work done, so that's what I've been doing.

7-9 am: Sesame Street, mostly uninterrupted work time
9-10 am: Play time with kid
10 am-12 pm: Game shows while I work semi-interrupted in dining room
12-1 pm: Lunch and getting ready for nap
1-3 pm: nap, uninterrupted work time
3-4 pm: Thomas and playtime
4-5:30 pm: Whatever I have to put on to get through this awful time as I frantically try to finish up work and get dinner started
5:30 pm: "The house is a mess, what did you do all day?" Sobbing

She has a newborn so it's probably safe to assume she is either a SAHM or on maternity leave.

My 5 year old is probably watching like 3 hours over the course of the day while we work/do things we need to do around the house. He's limited to a few shows we know are good. Otherwise, he plays with his toys or runs around the house. We also do some distance learning stuff, read several books together and take one 30-45 min walk in the afternoon as well. Screen time just is what it is right now. Not something I'm worrying about at all at the moment.

If you're a SAHM, 3-4 hours of screens feels like a lot - is this new? But you have younger kids and a newborn - do what you gotta do to survive! No judgments here.

Lol, okay

Not even keeping track. We're all just trying to survive over here.

Our usual screen time restrictions are no screens during the week with somewhat loose access to screens on the weekends. I am trying to keep up with that but many days end up giving in and allowing 1 hr each late afternoon during the week now. More than I would like but it is what it is.

Obviously you are in a different situation with 3 kids and a newborn to boot. But 3-4 hours does seem excessive, nonetheless.

Once they finish their school work of 4 hours a day and play outside for at least an hour, they can do whatever the want. We usually have no tv during the school week. They are in elementary school.

A lot. Don’t beat yourself up, or worry about it too much. This is an insane situation, and we’re all just trying to survive. Your kids will be fine if they watch a few extra episodes of Daniel Tiger.

I'm working at home with one kid. I try to keep her off screens until 2 or 3 and then it's a free for all, but if I have a meeting sometimes I need her to be distracted, we are also watching more movies together in the evening. Do what you need to do. It's better for your kids if they look back on this time as "those cool months when we hung out in our pajamas and watched tv all day" than "that scary time when mom was losing her s**t every day."

Most days probably around 30 minutes. Usually a family movie on the weekend. They are spending a lot of (educational) time on the chromebooks though. Ages 8 and 10. DH and I working form home.

Kids are 3, 5 and newborn. The older kids are probably watching 3-4 hours a day right now. I feel like that is a lot but I cannot get anything done with them in the house. I need to get the newborn down for naps, fed, pumping on top of making food for the older kids, laundry, cleaning etc. What about the rest of you? Similar?
