+1 every night for my 8 year old now. We know he's worried when he does this.

+1 Same

They probably always needed that attention but you weren't there to give it to them.

Yes. Boys 5&2. The 2 year old cries all day. The 5 year old whines, pouts, picks fights and has “aches” ( head, stomach, eye, etc..). I feel so badly for them. This sucks...

My young teen bounces back and forth.

Yep - mine are only 1 and 2 and are used to me living every day for work but now lose their shit if I even try to go for a walk without them

YESSSS!! I think it's really hard for my kids (5 and 3) because they have no concept of what day it is (and frankly, neither do I half the time). DH and I both WOTH so when we're home it's default to "family days" for my kids in their minds. They are having a hard time understanding that it's a new schedule, which is understandable, but it's taking longer to adjust than I thought it would. My 5YO has started talking in this baby voice that we worked really hard to stop a few months back. And the kids are spending more time together than usual so it's much more whining and fighting and annoying one another.

Yes! My nearly 4 y/o is pretty independent, but lately I can't even go into the kitchen to get the snack she's asking for without her calling at me 'I can't draw without you!' or 'I can't put this block tower together without you!'

Ummm... you could do ALL those things a week ago. I just need 5 min. of peace!

Yes! My kids are 7, 5 & 2. The toddler is my shadow. She won’t let me go to the bathroom without her.

Mine has changed from an independent self starter to a stage 5 clinger in 2 weeks

They need social interaction and there’s no one else to provide it anymore (classmates, care providers, etc.).

Everyone's feeling anxious, out of sorts and unmoored from their regular routine. Recipe for clinginess.

My kids are newly 7,4 and almost 2. Before this, I worked 3-4 days a week with a normal 9-5 schedule. But DH and I have been home now for ~3 weeks, and the kids are getting increasingly clingy/wanting attention MORE than when we were around somewhat less. I can barely go for a quick run solo. Our toddler, especially, needs more.

I’m happy to give and mostly enjoying the time with them, but what’s this about?
