Over my fertility journey the last 8 years, I’ve done 2 IVFs including 8 FETs (three successful, three miscarriages, nada for the others) and I’ve had these exact symptoms with every single one of them. It’s so frustrating, but hang in there!

I had virtually no symptoms off any medications - unless you count fatigue - EXCEPT for the PIO shot, which gave me a hella weird array of extreme reactions as soon as the absorption window hit, including several hours of severe chills (think: five layers of clothing and every blanket in the house, a heat pad, a space heater, etc - and I still felt like I was standing outside naked in an ice storm) followed by the worst, sweat-soaked hot flashes ever, as well as overwhelming nausea, vertigo and repeat vomiting. DO NOT recommend

(fwiw, I stopped the shots several weeks early, at my doctor's recommendation, due to these symptoms - and I'm sitting here watching my baby daughter sleep as I type)

Has anyone else experienced bad anxiety and depression while taking estrogen? I am predisposed to anxiety and am staying on my meds, but the other day my anxiety just sky rocketed and I began to ruminate about stuff from the past that was dealt with.

Has anyone else experienced these side effects?

Yes! In addition to heartburn and weird chest pressure (super fun during COVID!), I found my anxiety skyrocketed on estrogen. I found myself waking up every morning with severe anxiety and also struggling with paranoia. I also found things that were normal sources of stress ballooned to feel like Much Bigger Deals. Definitely my least favorite medicine. I wish I could say I had some great solution, but I tried the best I could to remind myself it was the medicine, not my reality. I did lots of yoga, deep breathing, meditation, etc... but the thing that helped most was just awareness and lots and lots of self compassion.

New poster here - Just wondering if you were successful after your 5 cycles?

And OP, estrogen and progesterone truly gave me early pregnancy symptoms as well. A bit of a mind f*** for me.

I didn’t have these symptoms but I noticed that PIO and progesterone pills make me very sleepy

Hi! I have my FET this week and have been on 2mg of estrogen three times a day, PIO and progesterone suppositories. I have had a lot of weird symptoms, heartburn and indigestion that won’t go away, stomach tenderness and chest tightness(kinda like someone is sitting on you). I just feel blah and I am not even pregnant yet. Wondering if anyone had this before their FET. Did it get better? TIA!
