CHML is far from being authentically Montessori in the grades that do PARCC testing.

Historically, Lee hasn’t done test prep. The Montessori method of teaching math is extremely different that what students would see on PARCC, but in my opinion, a lot better. The technology could certainly be the biggest hurdle.

LAMB introduced chromebooks in 3rd grade and does test prep. I personally see that as a negative because the only reason they do it is to have high PARCC scores.

Even with no test prep at all, 33% scoring a 1 is pretty bad. That's several tiers below grade level.

Are test scores an issue simply because the kids are not using computers? Langdon identified this as an issue and their test scores improved dramatically after they implemented some computer training for the kids the year that testing began (K or 1st, I don’t recall because we were focused on preschool during this tour)

I am also very curious about this and hope to hear from parents with kids in elementary grades (1-3 specifically). Do you feel your kids are thriving socially and academically - even if test scores are an issue?

Huh? No, they are considerably worse. To be far, Lee has only recently had an upper elementary program. But ITDS has 60% 4s and 5s in ELA and 47% in math. Lee has 26% and 27% respectively.

Nice campus. Huge achievement gap, bad test scores relative to demographics.

We’re #10 on the PK3 waitlist for Lee Brookland and hoping for an offer. What do current parents like/dislike about Lee Montessori in Brookland?
