Yeah, I just let the tweens and teens do their thing. I go to bed. They know how to turn the lights off and stuff. Sometimes we have to have conversations about cleaning up a snack, but generally they like having the house to themselves when it’s quiet and the adults are sleeping.

Sounds like my middle schooler...

Middle school? Omg I can not stay up all night long taking care of a middle schooler. Is it like the baby years all over again ? We still have the same 7:30 bedtime no matter what. I need my sleep.

Why would you need to stay up to care for your middle schooler? And 7:30??? Wow. My 10yo DD was up until 3AM last night, woke up at 1PM. I was asleep at 130AM and up by 845. While this is not a daily occurrence (we were up having a movie marathon), but I trust her to stay alive while I'm asleep under the same roof.

I used to do that, especially in the summer if I had nothing to do. I am a normally functioning adult who gets up at 6:45 am now because I have little kids who don't believe in sleeping in.

Ditto. My high schooler did that today. My college kid, on the other hand, had an early class and we are two time zones away, so was up and "in class" at 7.

NP here. I did go to college and wow, I never had that kind of sleep schedule. I did know one person like that and we all wondered how he would eventually transition to a normal job and life!

College is where I found out I function/work better at night. I've worked night shift for a decade and thrive at it. It's also come in really handy with DS and has allowed us to work out this new Corona schedule pretty well
