OP here: That's wonderful! Happy for you. The grade of my embryo was high - I think the photo was just done before it expanded again after thaw.

Congrats OP! I transferred two 4CC blasts in early January and am now 16 weeks along with a healthy baby boy. I’m convinced that grading doesn’t mean everything now.

I am really thrilled to hear this my "perfect AA embryo" resulted in a failed fresh transfer this cycle. Hoping that one of my frozen embryos that seem to be around the same as yours gives the same results...i'd started giving up hope that since my "best" one didn't work my not-as-good ones wouldn't either.

OP again -- thanks for the kindness, all. I like hearing all the stories of how people survived IVF. My first beta was about 600 13 DPT, so we are hopeful.

FWIW, my best and fresh blasts all failed and the two mediocre ones that were frozen at day 6 are now healthy 8 year olds.

My worst embryo was the only one that resulted in a live birth. Don’t sweat it.

OP Here - thanks for letting me know. I did a fresh transfer previously and yes it looked a lot different! I think I just wasn't prepared or educated really on the differences. Appreciate your kind reply.

My fresh embryo and frozen embryo looked completely different. The fresh was big and beautiful! The frozen looked deflated and not quite so pretty. Both resulted in 2 healthy kids.

You need to stop googling. There are some super ugly embryos that make babies and really beautiful ones that don’t. Don’t get caught up in that... just take care of yourself and try to distract and you’ll know soon enough. I know this is easier said than done.

Hi All -- Had my first transfer yesterday with a donor egg embryo (have had plenty of own egg transfers, unsuccessful) -- I am with Shady Grove and was able to look at the blast post thaw very briefly then they sent me a photo. I of course stared at it after for details! The cells were very tightly packed but it was "collapsed" still. There were some areas breaching the zona I think but it was hard to tell if they were air bubbles or cells. I've read in a few places that it can beneficial to allow it to expand back out in utero -- but you know, Google enough and you will find everything and anything. I was just wondering if anyone else has experience with this at SGF embryology, and what the outcome was?
