Ours did that last week. However, they didn't communicate that officially. We learned from one of the teachers. It's not smart for your daycare to say that. Ours phrased it in such a way that it's for safety reason.

These times are unprecedented. Most daycares are privately run. The options are going to be abide by their terms and deal with their schedule and closures, or stop paying and forfeit your spot.

When this is over, everyone is going to be trying to lawyer up for all of the injustices and it’s just not going to work out that way.

It is a contractual violation. Look at the terms of your contract and call the director. Explain your work requires day care coverage you signed up for. They can reduce staff as long as it complies with ratio requirements. But they should not close.

Daycare is still open but they let us know today that there are not a lot of kids. They said they may close early today because of low numbers and will take it day by day. They still expect payment. I don’t get it. Taking it day by day is very inconvenient for us. We need care. We need consistency. Is this allowed?
