Yes , I don’t know what you’d really be able to teach a 3 or 4 year old online. Preschool is mostly about socializing, following directions, learning to take turns ,etc. We can all teach our preschoolers letter sounds and numbers.

That's what the video chats have been doing for our kids. They spend a good time just smiling at each other, giggling, they sing songs with the teacher, read a story or two, some simple number of alphabet games/ questions. It is one of the highlights of my preschooler's day.

Probably because they're still figuring out what would work? PK is all about social interaction. That's pretty hard to replace.

Ours has three time a day zoom sessions (morning meeting, story time, and song time), plus a daily prompt with follow up via a chat program.

Ours sent weekly lesson plans and the specials teachers livestream their classes. I'm happy with it but honestly it's preschool...

What are you worried a preschooler will fall behind on? I have two preschoolers at home right now and I'm so relieved I don't even have to pretend to get involved in organized schoolwork.

If my school suggested online learning for a preschooler, I would get a new preschool. Kids that age can’t learn from screens (screens won’t hurt them but they can’t learn that way). They need to be doing, playing, experimenting. A daily activity is try is a nice thing - I am running out of ideas - but k nothing more.

I wouldn’t expect much from a preschool.

Our preschool teachers send videos of them singing which thrill my toddler. So kind of them!
