My father who is 93 was hospitalized for internal bleeding today near Albany NY. His care manager was not allowed to stay with him or even go into the ER with him. He has memory issues and we are concerned for him.

They do not have any confirmed coronavirus patients. I bet this new hospital rule of patients only will become true for all hospitals in a week or two.

I was told bc I wasn't having complications it was considered an elective surgery.

Not jumping to conclusions. I called to transfer to several hospitals and was told the same exact thing. Try Greenwich or Jersey City.

As of last week partners or grandparents were allowed. Most hospitals put a ban on doulas last week.

They made the call at NYP last night, called patients this morning. NYU and others are set to follow this week.

Since when? A good friend lives in NY and she posted today that she’s glad she’s still allowed her husband AND doula next week when she’s being induced.

NYC hospitals are no longer allowing partners, doulas, or anyone in labor and delivery. No support or partners allowed in postpartum either. Indications and csections are cancelled for now.

We are supposed to labor and deliver alone.


This just sucks in so many ways.
