Just send them to their rooms to entertain themselves.

This is when I lock myself in a room for an hour and tell them not to bother me and put on ear plugs. Yeah sometimes they mess stuff up but it's worth my sanity.

I think it's just the accumulation of a week and all of the anxiety hitting. No real solutions except that I feel your pain.

My 6 year old spent an hour riding his bike in an empty park. He got wet but he was dressed for the rain and he loved it. Hot chocolate when he got home.

We are all slipping into a deep funk. It’s only been one week since we started self-isolating. I know we need to snap out of it. Parents are extremely worried and anxious. Kid is sad at not being able to see friends except on devices and not going to activities.

I realize how lucky we are in so many ways, but we’re all just feeling really bummed.

Put on raincoats and go outside for a walk. Let the kids where rain boots and stomp in the puddles. It's fun and there are way fewer people out walking around in the rain.

You can go outside when it's 34 and raining. Dress for it. Go out into the woods or a beach or whatever you're near--I don't know where you are, it's obviouosly not the DC area. I grew up in the Northern part of Europe. If we had waited for a nice day, we would not have gone outside between Oct-April. It'll be fine, really. You'll be more affected by the weather than the kids.

Same aged kids here. We went for a long hike/walk in the woods. They got absolutely filthy but were happy and occupied for at least an hour.

Go outside anyway - I took a 30 minute walk yesterday in the rain - I would NEVER have done that in my prior life - too cold and I'm too lazy. But now I get out every single day. I know it won't fix the whole problem but you should try it.

Today it 34 degrees and rainy, and the kids are just arguing and melting down. Everything I suggest only occupies them for about 5mins. They are bored of tv and iPad. Quite frankly I don’t feel like trying to Pinterest a craft or elaborate activity I don’t know how we are going to get through the weekends, when we can’t get outside.

Do stretching exercises, dance, jumping jacks/push ups.

Something to burn off energy.

Splash in the bathtub? Maybe those tub crayons?
