This does not apply to child care, or it’s no more than 10 to a room and neither does staying 6ft apart.

I don’t think online or offline is the point. Looks like this school is trying to find a loophole to collect tuition.shelter in place will shut them down then they will have to figure out the next way to stay afloat

This is a Montessori school mainly for kids 3-6 I don’t see why virtual classes can not be provided. Other Montessori school provides distance learning.

Online class and Montessori are pretty opposite.

You should suggest they speak with a lawyer about the legal ramifications. That may give them pause

Those kids whose parents provide critical services have been taken care of by the free government provided childcare thanks to governor Hogan. If this was meant for those who provide critical services, why didn’t the head mention in the email?

They aren't all getting free child care. Not everyone is deemed critical and still need to work.

I'm sorry to tell you that we are at war. This means that any sacrifice may be asked of you, even losing your job and staying home. Better than being drafted and killed on the beaches of Normandy, PP. Perhaps even better than working overtime shifts in hospitals full of the dying and then being sick or dying yourself with Covid-19.

We are at war.

You email a scathing email in response, saying that the school will contribute to the surge in patients if they allow social interactions in person, and thus they will be morally responsible for multiple deaths.

I highly doubt they will actually open, OP, because on March 27th there will be probably be a lockdown in the area.
They're doing some weird virtue signalling towards their working families and employees. But still, you want to drive the point home that even considering this during a pandemic is unacceptable.

Just got an email from the head:

If it is safe to do so, WFCH will be reopening on March 30th, 2020. We have made the decision to do so in order to support our working families and to offer a sense of normalcy and safety to our students. Due to the changing circumstances and different opening criteria, we are no longer strictly following MCPS emergency closings. Instead, we will be making this decision in conjunction with CDC, Montgomery County Department Of Health and Human Services, and local education and health authorities.

This is insane!!! How can you ensure social distancing among toddlers and young kids?! Where does she place the safety of the kids and teachers?! What can parents and teachers do? Btw, she is not refunding the two weeks close and there was NO online class!
