Honestly, seeing how quickly this can take people down, if you start to get sick I think you should set up a set recurring text check-in with someone (relative, friend, etc.) so they know if they don't hear from you at 9am and 8pm they come check on you and your kids. My nightmare scenario is something happening to kids because we were unconscious and no one knew.
And obviously kids should know how to call 911.

Thank you and your husband for your sacrifice.

One time, when both our kids were toddlers, my husband was living and working in a different city Mon-Thur. One time, as soon as he got to his destination, he came down with debilitating stomach virus. Went to work nurse who confirmed norovirus. In the middle of the night, I came down with it. I was hope for 4 days, by myself, with norovirus and two very little children. I made do. You can, too.

We'd just deal with it. If we're both sick, we don't want our nanny to come because it's almost certain they'll wind up sick too.

Thanks! We have moderate symptoms so I’m still able to prep some meals (luckily bought a lot of food early in case this happened since I have no help). You make do, parents are strong!

Stay home and deal if at all possible.

That terrifies me too. I have a 4 year old and a 6 month old. Hoping that only one of us gets sick. The 4 year old could go to my parents. It of course she would be a carrier and I don't want them to get sick (they are younger and spry but still).
No idea if we are both so sick we can't manage so I'm not thinking about it and socially isolating.

I know families (in NY) who are like this. The chance that you will both be incapacitated - and if that happens, that it would be long-term and/or at the same time - is minimal.

Kids will get sick too. It will suck for a couple of weeks, and then we will all be immune.

Hope both of us aren’t so sick at the same time that we can’t put the TV on all day and do the bare minimum like provide cereal.

We have no local family. Obviously everyone we know is social distancing.

I have no clue what we would do with our 3 year old if we both got this virus at the same time.

Does anyone have a plan?
