Calm down, Karen. We are talking about staying in our car and doing a drive-through. No less safe than staying at home.

We have a few in our neighborhood. They’re lovely. Don’t go to the Mall.

Under normal conditions, the streets can get packed, but I think this year you can find times to wander through. You can park on aisle street and walk around.

It's a very rich neighborhood, and remember it is a neighborhood! So just be respectful of the people who live there. I would not be surprised if there were more police there than usual.

Not a bad idea but I fear this would be more crowded than usual but I'd like to hear first hand reports.

Surprisingly it was plenty sparse enough to stay six feet away! There were lots of empty spots on Haines point even. But not so much around the tidal basin.

What time did you go?

I also wanted to try to go out early and beat the crowds. In and out in 30 minutes hopefully.

We arrived at about 7:30 AM.

I did a drive by the memorials and cherry blossoms and drove to arboretum. I didn’t see cherry blossoms at arboretum but it was a lovely day.

I plan to do a drive-through with my family this weekend. We won't get out of the car, but I think the inside of our car is safe.

The crowds were typical of cherry blossom. So much so, they shut down smithsonian metro to discourage people from going.

Any recommendations for where to go? My kindergarten us blossom obsessed. Wondering if it’s worth trying the tidal basin and leaving if there are crowds.
