What's "fair" depends on your goals. You don't own other people or their time -- unless you're paying for it. If your goal is for them to quarantine themselves so that they and you will be less exposed, then pay them for the 24-7 time that you would like them to restrict their behavior on your behalf. If you're just being pissy because they're using their time away from your home productively, then your expectations are bizarrely inappropriate - IMO. Why are you so "concerned" about how other people spend their time? (not solely a snarky question -- I'm genuinely curious and not sure what I'm missing here.)

And she doesn’t owe them either. Tough decisions will have to be made.

You are giving them PTO. What they do with that time is not your business. Also, I hope you are treating them both as household employees for tax purposes if you want to try to control them like that.

I have suspended having anyone come to my house for cleaning or other services. I will actually not be getting back my cleaning lady even after this is over. And I am not paying her now because she continues to work and picking up new jobs even after everyone paid her to not work. I will let the govt help her out and I am going to use the money to help food banks.

The nanny however, shouldn’t be working other jobs as this is intended as social distancing to protect her as well as your children and your family. Did you make it clear to her before? The only real way around this is to schedule Skype calls with her and your kids at random times. Everything is closed, people are supposed to be staying home, plus you’re paying her anyways, so she should be available, right??? If she’s taken another job and is not available, that’s your opening to talk to her and reset expectations.

Nope. Treat it like a real job - if you want to do whatever the hell you want, you take leave without pay. If you’re still getting paid your boss gets to tell you how to use your working hours. That’s literally the definition of a job.

Nothing. I'm paying her, and other than that, I'm doing nothing.
