It is. I have 2 single mom friends. One had to send her kid to live with her sister and the other one -- her son has severe asthma. Both are still working. Tough.

The day is endless. I wake up early to work and stay up late to work.
I've been trading childcare with a neighbor for a couple of hours every day and this has helped a little. But generally I am completely strung out.

Same -- another single mom. Every day feels like an accomplishment, but don't think this is sustainable for weeks or months.

I’m a single mom of three but already worked from home and my kids are older 10-13. We just have to work harder moms but we got this.
Frankly I’d rather do this and would prefer to single mom a thousand children through a global pandemic than be quarantined with the abusive ass I was married to. That would be way harder.

Nothing to offer but a virtual hug, hang in there

I live in a condo and my DDs best friend is a single dad now working at home. Once a day we watch each other’s child for three hours so we can get some work done. I think it keeps us both pretty sane.

I'm a single mom too - and yes its a challenge. To add to the challenge, my elderly dad fell yesterday and is in the hospital. He has dementia and doesn't understand why none of us can visit him. I feel like I might break.

But harder if you have no back up.
Stay strong, op.

Any other families you can team up with? Maybe someone with slightly older kids? I've already talked with my closest friend about working from home together after a reasonable quarantine period. The kids have friends to play with and we team up on taking care of the pack, cooking, etc. Can also alternate houses for fresh toys/things to do. If you're working from home full time, is there any family you can go stay with who can help?

It’s so hard. I’m in the same boat and unsure of how I will stay productive. Wish DD was a bit older!

Hang in there. A lot of nurses and nursing aides are single moms. Everyone talks about the sacrifices doctors are making, but nurses and nursing aides who are single moms especially CANNOT afford things like nannies for their kids, hotel rooms, etc. that doctors are relying on.

Yes. Hang in there, OP. Just think of all the miserable marriages out there, and being quarantined with someone you are constantly at odds with.

I know everyone is stressed, but it is so difficult being a single mom right now of a preschooler. I am supposed to do everything — telework, take care of DS, cook, etc! This morning I slept in. Managers tell us that we can work after hours at home, but working at night and getting up early is burning me out. Any other single moms out there who are in the same boat?
