My 8 and 5 year old spent an hour playing Forbidden Island today. We also have old school games like Battleship and Trivial Pursuit to break out.

One item that we own that I am going to take out at some point is this awesome 1000 piece world map puzzle. It is so hard! But so interesting.

There are a ton of them—he has a Pokémon and Minecraft one. Knocks out math and keeps him entertained independently.

we are putting in a small square foot garden.

Also growing microgreens and doing sprouts.

I just ordered a bunch of rolls of duct tape. My kids like to use cardboard and duct tape to make weapons and armor. WE have a stack of cardboard we were going to recycle and now we will let them build a giant fort with it too.

For younger kids, you can go through a lot of painters tape by just giving them the rolls and letting them do it all over the floor and furniture. Our nursery school had a huge tape budget.

Def puzzles. The harder the better.
If you have a backyard, any outdoor games that your family can play together
Cards and card games. Now might be the time for those long leisurely Risk marathons.
Learn to knit? Or something similar? Make pinewood derby cars?

Puzzles. I’m not a huge puzzle fan and neither are my kids, but we like to do them together.
