I misunderstood what the OP was whinging about when they said burden. Thought she meant she had to hire a local care provider. We’re not supposed to be mixing so the folks that are hiring babysitters so they can work at home or continuing to disregard the social distancing recommendation.




But some people will need to hire baby sitters/care providers so they can still work.


The majority of us will be told not to leave the house very soon. That includes the kid from down the street coming to watch your kid.

the daycare might be making alternative arrangement for payments but if not, you would have to likely give up your spot until you can pay again.

You do realize that your daycare still needs to pay rent, electric, water, etc even if they are not open? You want to come out of all this to find your daycare went bankrupt and shut down permanently?

I am also not paid for not working. In fact I’m paying rent on a retail space while I’m not working. We still have to pay for everything. Your daycare still has to pay for everything they typically pay for. It’s terrible.

We are continuing to pay ours so the teachers can continue to get paid.

We still need to make the last tuition payment for pre-k. The school is closed with no plans to reopen in the near future (probably at least until summer).

What happens with tuition? We also have to take the burden of additional child care while we work...
