With a child coming, why buy a house without a fenced yard?

He claims he is a MD making 400K. Wife (38 yrs old) may quit working because she is nursing her baby and trying for another baby. He wants something that is expensive so that she continues working. He wants Her To Quit Breastfeeding..

Wow. You’re crazy. Not OP of either thread but I read that thread. Your little “ facts” are fake news. You clearly have reading issues because the mom in that other thread doesn’t even nurse - she exclusively pumps. Work on reading comprehension before you try to get at someone else. You sound like you hate men. Your husband must not even a real man.

Six bedrooms is over compensating for something.

Good answer. Plus you have to factor in the condo you can clean yourself (if you want) and no yard maintenance. With a big house you will likely need payed help with the cleaning and yard work. Even if you can afford that much house and the cost that comes with maintaining, does your family size and lifestyle need that much house?

OP here. We will be outsourcing housekeeping but we there isn’t a yard in either property. The house is with 3 decks, no yard except for a small front one.

OP here. Lots of other posters use the “ ...” mark which is why I did. I’m not that poster and I don’t see any breastfeeding topic on this forum. My wife and I are expecting our first child in May. She is not 38 and I’m not an MD.

I’d have two fully funded college plans before dropping that price on a house, especially when you only have one kid.

No one needs 4200 sq ft, unless you have eight kids or something

I’d pick condo. That house sounds enormous. It will be expensive to own, maintain, clean. Sounds like a death sentence.

My wife and I are in a huge disagreement whether to buy a house or a condo. We need more space than our current place, and it’s a good time to buy with los of inventory in the spring. We have it settled down to two options - a condo ( her pick) or a house ( my pick). The condo is $670k. It’s a 3bd 3ba, 1760 sqft. It is a secure elevator building, has a rooftop deck, and indoor heated parking. It’s also in a highly desirable area and close to lots of grocery stores, parks, and our work. The house is right under $1.5m. It’s 6 beds, 5 beds, 4200sqft. It’s close to many things and a wonderful neighborhood. I think we should buy a home with more space to grow into, but my wife thinks a condo is plenty for our family. Which one would you choose?
