Same. And i just used up my paid leave and FMLA on maternity leave so I don't know what I'll do if it closes indefinitely.

I think it’s okay! Your company’s move to remote work is one form of social distancing, which is meant to help control the spread of covid-19. Daycares/schools may close if further social distancing is needed, but the costs of closing daycares/schools are arguably higher than having employees telework (where employees can easily do so). So it makes sense to begin social distancing measures with steps like increasing remote work.

I mean she'll be fine. "The WHO-China Joint Mission report also noted that children appear largely unscathed in this epidemic, writing, “disease in children appears to be relatively rare and mild.” From the data so far, they report that “infected children have largely been identified through contact tracing in households of adults.” https://arstechnica.com/science/2020/03/dont-panic-the-comprehensive-ars-technica-guide-to-the-coronavirus/

By staying home you are avoiding catching it from work and spreading it to other people, most importantly to vulnerable people who are elderly and/or have underlying conditions. Keeping her home would also help slow the spread, but you have to do what you have to do.

Oh yeah. Both kids at daycare. Of course, one of 'em picked up croup, and the other just got over pink eye. That's the nature of the beast, I suppose.

I can’t work remotely while taking care of a toddler. Either I’m working, and DC is in daycare, or I’m not working and taking care of DC.

Yes DD is going to daycare. We are not working remotely yet, though when that happens I suspect daycare will close too.

You know how to wash your hands, cover your cough, wipe your nose, keep out of people's personal space, and not lick and mouth everything in sight. You are working at home to protect yourself and others. You send your child into group care were the majority show signs of the virus due to the season.

Yes - my toddler is still going to daycare and will unless daycare closes or she shows symptoms that require her to stay home.

Don't feel horrible! You are working and need someone to take care of your child. Of course send them to daycare. Chances are you will be picking up earlier and dropping off late since you don't have a commute. That's bonus time you will have with them.
