It usually happens after 8th but last year the freshman class lost some boys to Landon who couldnt handle the academic demands and there are rumors the 8th grade once again has strong players looking to switch to schools like Landon, GP and Gonzaga. Niced to know the team looked good. Coach Via is a good guy.
“Niced to know....”
Tells you everything you need to know about the credibility of poster and his/her thoughts on kids allegedly leaving Potomac because the academics are too hard. Fake post!
Its also the truth. My kid is an athlete in the Potomac upper school who thought about leaving after 8th.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:That is interesting to hear because yes, strong athletes sometimes (and its usually lax players) leave the school because the academics are too demanding and they cant get top grades. You are right. It is not necessary to point out that was not really a McLean parent who was the OP. We all knew who posted. Good call
I'm the OP and definitely not a Potomac (or goalie) parent. I only wrote the comment because my son said (in his words) "Potomac is trash" and then they got beat by them. I don't know why I bother to post on this board, everyone is just nasty and cynical all the time. If I were a Potomac parent I would have proudly said "Potomac is going to turn some heads this year" and if I was a goalie mom of one of their goalies I would say "And their goalies are unstoppable." There's no need to try to brag on kids like that. I'm a proud mom and would definitely brag without any subterfuge.
I would guess friends with the "big guy on offense" who just moved from McLean to Potomac. How thoughtful.
