Unimportant. What do you want?

It's your hair, OP. I wouldn't love it if my husband grew a mustache, but it's his face.

OP my DH never wants me to change my hair. But every time I do he goes "oh that is lovely!"

So.

Just do it.

If it’s still too long/much, do as a PP suggested and do a few inches past the shoulder. For the love of God, do not cut yourself a mom bob after having waist length hair. And realize that shoulder length means you can really only do a low ponytail - no decent higher pony or bun. The shorter you go, the fewer options you have (which, I am guessing, is not what you want with little kids).

+1, a bit longer than shoulder is nicer to pull it up

You may find it easier for you mentally, too, to make a big change in stages anyway.

Thanks. I like this idea.

I would never date a guy that doesn’t like short hair (and long hair)... GMAFB... you now want to control my hair length.

Most men prefer longer hair. Duh.

Compromise, cut it to shoulder blades and later if you want it shorter, do it shorter.

You're married to a nut job. It's not like you are going to cut all your hair off, gain 50 lbs., and drive a minivan.

It's long wavy and to my hips and honestly with young children it's a hassle.

I told him my plan and he pouted. He's always loved my hair, says it's the first thing that he noticed about me.

I'm not going super short, I think to my shoulders will be enough. I'll still have hair but it will be a huge difference.
I do value his opinion and want him to be attracted to me, but I'm sick of all this hair.

Thoughts?
