My child is number 5. I am very interested in transportation options also. We are in UM.

Is there a place to look up the overall status of various waitlists? I can find where I'd look if I had a child in school, but where would I look for a bigger picture of the waitlists?

There are many providers so prices vary. In general, its approximately $150-200/week/child within the County.

Unfortunately, it's probably not likely you will get in with a number in the 40s. By 4th grade most parents have committed so there are not likely to be many spots open.

In case you do...CMIT North ES has a nice facility. They have a wonderful computer lab and ecology lab. Its in Laurel so, depending on where you live, transportation can be challenging. For children who are on grade level, the school will probably be great. However, if your child is above grade level, you will find that the school does not plan for addressing those needs. The school also does not take advantage of available resources for TAG identified students. You will have to be very proactive to get additional resources to challenge your child. Another thing I found odd about the school is that they seem to not want parent involvement outside of the occasional field trip. For instance, the school regularly has performances that parents are not allowed to attend. Rather, the students do Black History Month, Holiday performances, etc. for the staff and other students.

All in all, if your neighborhood school is lacking, it's a solid option. But be aware of the issues noted above. Good luck!

Closest we've ever gotten.
Any chance we'll get in?

Anyone know anything about the school?

Thanks!
