WHC is also good, but not particularly convenient to Bethesda.

DC will probably be more convenient since we would typically be coming from work for our appointments. I prefer a doctor over a midwife. I am not high-risk, but would prefer to be at a place that has a great NICU. Based on that, do people have suggestions? What do people think about Georgetown Medstar?

I gave birth twice at Georgetown Medstar and loved it. YMMV.

Sibley if you're having a routine pregnancy.

Will you have moved to Bethesda by the time you are due? And where in DC do you work, downtown?

I thought Sibley was great. One of the things that was great about it is it's not "Baby-Friendly", so they'll take your baby to the nursery at night and let you rest. Not sure which other hospitals also do this.

That would not be the best if you lived in MoCo, though. As in real estate, location matters, OP.

Inova Fairfax, VHC, or Sibley.

Where are you at specifically? DC proper?

OP congrats on your pregnancy. The differences between hospitals aren't very drastic. Some have higher levels of NICU than others, if you happen to be high risk. The care at all of them is good. I would start your search near where you live.

Also, this is a good time for you to reduce your use of the word "best! It's all-or-nothing thinking, and can cause anxiety, either for you or later, for your child. GL!

Choose a few that are convenient for you, then pick a doctor/midwifery program.

There really aren't bad hospitals around here. Where do you live? Where do you work? Who is your OB? Are you looking to deliver with an OB or a midwife? Are you high risk or not?
