I’m a single mom dating a single dad. Things were good at the beginning because his ex took the kids a few times per week. She now hasn’t seen them at all in two months and there’s zero time to even try to be a couple. I was getting more sex at the tail end of my marriage. I’m about to bail.

The bottom line is that the kids are going to be the top priority (as they should be). That makes establishing a long-term healthy relationship much more difficult.

If the guy has children of his own, that changes the paradigm a bit because both partners are at the same starting point.
