Skip them. They won’t be missed

I love this. My son received this as a favor and he was thrilled when his flower bloomed.

Cute notebooks and pens. Mini flashlight. Mini unpainted birdhouse/treasure chest/box from Michaels. Kazoo.

A medium sized container of bubbles and a pack of driveway chalk. Might be youngish for the 8 year olds but we always use those in the spring/summer.

I would go with food or candy over plastic junk. Some cookies or even a ring pop would be liked by any kid in your age group.

This sounds about right. No need to overthink it.

This is what I've always done for my kids, plus Japanese erasers.

At the last big age range party I hosted, one of the activities was making pom popm poppers and the kids took those home in addition to a handful of other tiny party theme related items. The poppers are fun for all the ages you mentioned.

I did cupcakes once and both kids and parents like it. We have since done it for every party. Here's what I do:
1. Order a tray of un-frosted cupcakes from the grocery store
2. Make your own frosting in a variety of flavors (I just do raspberry, chocolate, and vanilla)
3. Buy a bunch of toppins (gummy's, sprinkles, m&ms, etc.)
4. Buy cupcake boxes from Amazon (cheaper than Michaels or Jo-Anns).
5. Set up a decorating station and let the kids have fun

They take the cupcakes home as a favor or eat it there and the parents are happy.

Is there a theme? What is your budget?

-water bottles
-something edible, like a decorated cookie
-temporary tattoos
-glow sticks
-keychain (their name, themed with something for the party, etc)

Kites are nice but sounds expensive. You could get a clay pot, some potting soil in a ziplock bag and some seeds. Plants span the age groups.

I’m having a birthday party for my 8yo. Guests are ages 4-10.

Can you recommend a good favor for a large age range?

I was considering a kite but the cheaper ones are poor quality.
