Those scores seem high for UWV. Why not Carnegie Melon and Pitt?

I believe Haverford does not have you preschedule tours, so you can fit it in as possible. It's close enough that you can go back on a half day or maybe a weekend if they do tours then. We did an afternoon tour at Swat, then morning at Haverford.

For some schools enroute to tours, we stopped and walked/drove around campus to get a quick feel.

If you're looking at other small LACs strong in biology, you could try Juniata (just over 3 hours away but very remote) and Franklin & Marshall (about 2 hours) in PA.

I live in a suburb of Pittsburgh. It will take you about about hour and a half to get from Oakland (the city neighborhood where Pitt is) to Morgantown, WVA. I would stay overnight in Pittsburgh and enjoy the city and drive early to WVA the next day.

We did swarthmore and haverford in one day. Wanted to do Penn but it was oversubscribed. Make you bookings early.

We did Lehigh and Lafayette in one day. There are different types of schools in Philly. If he doesn’t know might want a mix of large, small, urban, suburban, etc. helps to narrow down focus.

I just planned this trip out for over spring break, and it's hard to fit in two a day if the colleges aren't right next to each other. I also tried to schedule a visit at UVA and the signup slots were full.

I agree with this, at least for my kid. He really could only do one tour a day, it’s a lot for them to take in and you don’t want them all running together in their minds. For us it worked well to do one tour a day, let DS absorb what he saw, we would eat lunch/dinner after and talk about it.

His test scores are SAT 1510 GPA 4.7.

I am also thinking about driving my DC to Philly to look at Penn, swarthmore and haverford. Do you think we could do 1 campus per day or could we do 2 in one day and one in the other (and maybe add Drexel or Villanova)? Thanks.

Trying to take my DS local to see colleges for Spring break. He wants to study biology. We have already done Virginia so looking for within a 3 hour drive. Recommendations please.
