The Supreme Court just agreed to take the ACA case. It will probably come up in October. So you will have the Trump Administration arguing to eliminate the ACA and with it coverage for pre-existing conditions. Against that you will have either Sanders arguing for Medicare for All without being able to keep the House or take the Senate, or you will have Biden arguing to keep the ACA and protect people with pre-existing conditions, and he will have a better chance of helping Democrats keep the House and flip Senate seats. Based on the 2018 midterm results, I’d say Biden’s argument will be stronger than Bernie’s.

Except in SC, where it was way up, almost at Obama 2008 levels. From a Washington Post analysis:

“Around 528,000 South Carolinians turned out in the 2020 Democratic primary, a remarkable show of voter engagement compared to four years ago. Former vice president Joe Biden ran up his totals in black communities but also won areas dominated by groups he has struggled to connect with, notably white and higher income voters. These areas showed some of the largest turnout increases in the state.

Overall, South Carolina’s vote total was a massive increase over the 373,000 turnout for 2016 and nearly matched the votes cast in Obama’s 2008 primary win.”

Bernie is under-performing his turnout and vote totals of 4 years ago. How is he expanding anything?

Benie's plans are unrealistic and he has no intention or ability to implement any of them. When you hear "Medicare for all" or "Free college" what you should be listening to is "Mexico will pay for the wall" because the promise has the same reality.

Bernie can't get ANY of his proposed legislation passed. Why? Because the GOP will almost certainly continue to control the Senate.

So he hasn’t thus far expanded turnout, even among young voters, because.... Why?

It was a difficult decision for me because I wanted someone better. But between Bernie and Biden, I will go with Biden.

Biden can fill judge seats and cabinet positions. We need to reboot our diplomacy. We need to have people who have the experience to fix what trump did internationally. We need someone who won’t try to overhaul everything into some crazy plan and divide the country even more. We need someone who can implement changes to make things better.

And we need someone who isn’t a socialist. I know Dems will vote for Bernie if they have to, but I think republicans will come out in full force to make sure it doesn’t happen. I also think there is a silent portion of Dems that just won’t vote for Bernie in the general.

So Biden it is.
