When they were driving me nuts with hyped up energy I made them do 10 things, 10 times (each). They could pick what but it was fitness or energy expending stuff.

I would not do that as punishment though, nor in public.
I would not have my child put their hands on a public bathroom floor.

I just saw this article, and thought this mom was genius for coming up with a creative and effective way to get her kid to behave. She had her kid drop and do 10 pushups in a store bathroom to get him to calm down and listen to her.

What do you do that's out of the norm and works?
