We've been at the school for a few years now and have experience for one year at another charter school in DC. My impression as a early elementary parent is that the school is very well organized and is very thoughtful and research based in every aspect of the program. I appreciate how the arts are integrated into classroom expeditions in music, art, and drama. Our bi-weekly feedback from teachers includes academic info with an almost emphasis on social emotional skills. The school tries to foster a sense of community among students and their families (

All that said, I do not know why the school DC test scores are not higher. I have not been that concerned about the DC test scores since I am really happy about the other aspects of the school mentioned above, but they are lower than I would have expected.
There are no shuttles, but TR4th and TR Young are very bikeable.
