Me, too!!! We LOVE the Chrysler PHEV Pacifica. My only complaint is how sluggish it is when it switches to the combustion engine, but overall, I absolutely love that we get minivan convenience but that I can do it all on electric for day-to-day travel.

I absolutely love our Chrysler Pacifica plug-in EV hybrid. It goes 37 miles electric on a single charge (which we do with a regular house outlet overnight) and then switches to hybrid after that. For most of my commuting to and from my job (unless I have an appointment elsewhere) I get by all electric every day. I love that it charges on a regular home outlet and that we can get free charging in lots of places around the DMV.

Performance is amazingly good in electric mode -- way peppier than the combustion engine. I have never loved a car so much.

Irony is that I didn't want a minivan at all. I wanted something all-electric, like the Nissan Leaf. But my husband wanted a minivan, and he found this as a compromise -- all-electric for everyday commuting, but with the flexibility to drive with gas and electric for longer distances.

BTW, we drove to Maine on a single tank of gas without refueling; that's how good hybrid mode is.

They grow fast, that “little uncomfortable” third row is going to be miserable for the two squashed back there.

Minivan market has been on a long decline. Only a few players remain in the market. GM and Ford gave up on the minivan long time ago. Nissan dropped out a few years ago. Now only Honda, Toyota, Chrysler/Dodge, Kia make minivans with Dodge leaving the market in 2021. Among these makers, only Chrysler and Honda make real effort. Toyota leverages 15 year old design.

Chrylser does have a phev minivan. I don’t see Honda is entering the electric minivan market. The demand is just not there to support two electric minivans.

They sell them in Japan, but the market in the US doesn't support it.

EV range is very dependent on vehicle weight. Minivans are just too heavy to get a decent range on a battery. Plus add in 7 bodies + gear....I think a lot of families would have range anxiety.

Why haven't the various manufacturers come up with an electric minivan yet? I can see our family needing to make the jump from our current crossover to a minivan in the near future. We can squeeze another year or two out of our current vehicle, and I was really hoping to be able to move into something electric at that point but it seems this still will not exist by then. Anything on the horizon that I'm just not tuned into?
