Absolutely. There is going to be the major realization that you don't need to live in NYC anymore and it's unsafe with how dense & crowded it is. Corporate America can basically work from home and still function. I think it'll be good in the long run since it'll get people out of these areas that are too congested
I predict that NYC real estate is going to take a short term hit but will bounce back quickly.

This is what I think too. A lot of people are going to be very unprepared when schools close down for 2-3 weeks.

The morning rush is less crowded. Not empty like a holiday, but noticeably easier to park at train stations, less crowd on the sidewalks.
Seemed to be about the same as usual heading home, though - so I think tourists are still out in full force.

I just spent the day in downtown Manhattan- Soho and Union Sq area. Was just as crowded as usual, one would have no idea there was an international pandemic going in

Definitely. The higher the urban density, the greater the risk of contagion, and the more problems with supply chains.

People are definitely panic-buying all shelf stable foods at TJs and we’ve been out of face masks for weeks. My neighborhood has a high concentration of fairly neurotic people. I’m not too worried. I expect to get it at some point, the way I got flu this season.

Especially in the city where there’s just so many people in close proximity much of the time and subway being the main transport?
And with so many flights from China still going to JFK? With regents in Jan, mid winter break and upcoming spring break, are less people wanting to go out of JFK?
It seems like most people I know in VA aren’t thinking about it much.
