Juniata. Great enviro science programs. Small, friendly and inclusive school. Lots of merit aid.

I was also going to mention Allegheny. Small school, not competitive and they seem to have lots of activities for their students to get involved in.

Have you looked at the CTCL schools? They're all sooo nurturing . . .

+1 Environmental Sciences and Biology are strong there. Undergrads get to do actual research with professors. Beautiful campus. Small, caring community.

But I'm looking for schools for her to check out -- small, good sense of community, not cut throat competitive, known for good Biology and Env Science programs, not impossible to get into with good average stats.

My super quiet DD loved UDel. Lots of kids like her on the honors tour we took.

Honestly, I'd look at Virginia Tech. It's not a small school but it's big enough to have something for everyone - shy introverts included.

What's a good school for a rather shy girl who is interested in Biology/Environmental Science?

Good average student; SAT around 1400
