Ummm, no! It will surprise much of the yoga pants SAHM/D on DCUM, but for many of us SWS was a complete non-starter. But you are so adorable and predictable.

Anonymous wrote:SWS is going to be at its current location for the fall and then in a swing space in Carver Langston starting January 2021 (so, mid-way through the upcoming school year). Are either options anywhere close to you? Capitol Hill Montessori is still up near Columbia Heights for another year, so likely too far out of the way given your commute.

We have a 3 year old who would enter PK3 in the fall and we're debating if it's even worth entering the lottery vs. sending him to daycare for another year. Our house, bought years ago when we were young and stupid, is EOTR and initially that's where we'll be. Our in-bounds option is.....not good. So, I need some help pulling together a list if we decide to do the lottery. Obviously I've missed the open houses, which is making this even more challenging. And I'm not sure how to find data on detailed breakdowns like OOB offers made, etc., just the basic info.
This is what I have so far:
Two Rivers Young (we like the school from what we know about it and the location is incredibly convenient for us. I know it's a longshot)
Two Rivers 4th
Capitol Hill Montessori
Payne
Miner
JO Wilson
Appletree Southwest
Where else? I don't want to waste spots. I know Van Ness, L-T, Muary, Brent are absolute no-gos as far as getting in. Even Amidon-Bowen seems impossible to get into! (which blows my mind after living in SW from 2006-2011). We'll be commuting across the Hill to get to downtown and Foggy Bottom/GW area. Thomson? Stevens?
In an ideal world, wed land at a school that is play-based. I know, that's not how a lot of DC schools are. We're not looking for language immersion (DH and I are fluent in German and Russian, neither of which are offered). And we want to keep the commute down, bonus if we can not have to use a car.
