Hah. Dh was thrilled when our dd was old enough to go to the park. He said he always wanted to swing and play on the playground (we live near an awesome one) but didn’t want to be accused of being a pedophile. He plays with them almost every day on the playground. Tag, hide and go seeks, swings.

I agree that most 10 year olds don’t want a playground.

Yeah they celebrate with friends or spouse. It’s not like parents plan it and buy the cake and invite people.

It’s ok and mine would go but otherwise they are done with the playground. Just bring some activities.

Ours is 5th. We did a big party and that will probably be the last.

Well, at age 10 now, the "parties" have turned into outings with a few friends or sleepover, but they are still parties in the sense that DD still gets a cake and friends sing to her. For example, last birthday was an outing to a trampoline place and then they all came back to our house for cake. I'm not sure that will stop anytime soon. That's how it was for me too.

For me, end of Elementary school was the last for big parties. After that it was more my parents paying for 2 or 3 friends to go the movies or other event or a sleepover, but much smaller with a few close friends.

I'm female and I never stopped until college. I always had a sleepover for my birthdays and at 16 had a huge party with a DJ.

I think 12 for parties other than sleepovers seems normal.

I think I stopped when I was 10 or so when I was a kid.

My kids are turning 9 and 11 this year. I think this year or next year may be the last for my oldest.
