I graduated 20 years ago so take it with a grain of salt.... but we had a LOT of fun. ?

A student who can have fun at tufts can also have fun at U of C. As long as he is reasonably adventurous and friendly, he will have a good time.

My child is there. So far very happy. But this is a smart, bookish kid who enjoys studying and learning- not frat parties or football games. Spends free time goin to films, museums, hanging out with like minded friends. Not a school for everyone. But perfect school for the right kid.

Earned my MBA from U of C. The undergrads walking on campus always looked so miserable. The few that I interacted with during university wide clubs also seemed unhappy. I am encouraging my child not to even consider U of C for undergrad. Makes me sad since it is my alma mater

Probably depends on your DS' definition of fun. If it's going to sports games, then yes. If it's study groups, then no, it'll be fun.

studying is fun so no "fun goes to die" is not true

i've heard from so many peers the bad rap U of Chicago has as the place fun goes to die. Is this still true? My DS is interested but also wants a fun college experience...
