What does MV8 have to do with this post? MV P street is in very crime ridden area and the kids have to walk to playground. I’d also add that while MV8 is in a decent neighborhood, Turkey Thicket (where they play) is known to have more crime. Point is I wouldn’t have any more qualms sending kid to TRY than I would MVP.

There was a shooting in Dupont/Logan Circle yesterday. I guess that's not safe either?

TRY parent here. I wouldn’t consider that neighborhood safe, but we’ve never had issues walking through it in the morning. We love the school, FWIW.

I live in NE Capitol Hill usually dismiss questions like this, and I walk and bike through that area occasionally on weekends. And I know people who rave about TR Young. But my sense is that the Carver Langston neighborhood does have a higher crime rate than most DC neighborhoods, and I think it's an entirely reasonable question. Hopefully parents with actual experience can chime in with their experience.

The area seems fairly secluded, but saw that there was a homicide near there yesterday. What is the experience of TRY parents?
