He needs a balance of nutrients, not just protein. At that age, fats are crucial and calorie dense.

You need to discuss supplementation with your paediatrician, and look into getting a paediatric registered dietician to work on meal plans and supplementation.

The addition of the Pediasure may be feeding the picky eater habit, if you’re giving it at the wrong times.

Definitely talk to your doctor first. I wouldn’t mess around with protein powder for a kid. Too many ingredients that could potentially have weird side effects.

I wouldn’t do it. What proteins does he eat now? Most kids get enough protein but are lacking in fiber.

I would advise you talk to your pediatrician. There are risks for too much protein.

I want to put protein powder in my 4 year old drink or food because of his low weight & picky eater habit. He is already on pedicure recommended by his pediatrician. Any possible side effects for kid that young consume protein powder? Where can I protein powder designed for kids? Any recommended doses?
