It’s probably in their junk mail. My sister also never checks her email. She probably glances at it once a week. She’ll realize things months later when she finally looks at it, like there was a back to school picnic in August when it was almost October. She started just putting my email down for her kids teachers and then I just copy it into a text.

My MIL can't seem to enter my email address properly and then becomes irrationally angry when she hasn't heard back from me. Same with texting.

It's not intentional, but an evite quickly gets buried if I don't see it right away. Sheesh!

If you open an evite then the sender can see that. When I don’t want to be bothered I just never open until I have a solid excuse. That way the sender thinks I just haven’t opened - meanwhile I’m coming up with a reason not to go because some people just can’t take a simple no

Twice a week in 2020? How are you living? My sister is completely antisocial and never takes her kids to parties; she trashes invites without even looking at them. I accept everything and make them a priority.

I check my email like twice a week generally. But sometimes I have the flu for a month while one DD has walking pneumonia and DH just had knee surgery and the dog is dying and our 7 yr old is basically running the household for us. So we let a lot slide that month. Sue us.

Because all of the details are right there in the email telling you that you've got an evite. There's no reason to open it except to respond. There's a million reasons (generally either selfish or scattered) for why people don't respond.

Because they’re overwhelmed, and it’s probably not about you. Some people get 200 emails a day they have to deal with, and they just can’t do it all.

I get that sometimes you miss the email. Why not even open it to just glance at the details after a parent mentions it to you? I wish people could just say no.
