We did it for my daughter and it was so much easier! Highly recommend Greenenvelope- even my grandmother had no trouble or complaints (and that’s huge for a 90 year old Bubbie!).

I think that most people (not all) find them more convenient as they can be directly saved into calendars. Also, a lot of paper invites are now using online RSVP’s which I find more frustrating- having to type in a whole address. The online system just simplified things for both the host and guests.

I feel like if people think it’s tacky, then I don’t care. I find it tacky to do over the top paper invites that will end up in the trash. To each their own.

We’ve gotten mostly evites this year for our DS in 7th. I think they’re fine.

We used Greenvelope and loved it. Also used Paperless Post for a previous event and preferred Greenvelope.

My daughter is in 6th grade so she’s only gotten one invitation so far but it was by email with a link to a website. It was easy, tasteful and i could easily find event info whenever i needed it. I thought it was great! Impossible to lose, cheap and good for the environment. How can that be bad?

I’m for them. My daughter just went through the Bat Mitzvah year and received several. For me, they are easier just like when birthday invites switched to evites- no getting lost. Some of the paper cards just seemed so tacky- I’d much rather think that parents are saving mo way there and not just wasting it on something that will be recycled.

Greenenvelope and Paperless Post both seemed nice.

Why not? Cheaper and more environmentally friendly and will probably get you faster/more accurate rsvps. This is a religious milestone not a chance to show off wealth.

My (non-Jewish) husband thought this was a great idea. However, since we hadn’t received a single e-vite, we decided to go with paper.

What do people think of (nice) electronic Bar Mitzvah invitations? We’re considering it for our son’s Bar Mitzvah and I’m wondering how common they are these days and if guests would be okay with or put off by it.
