This is OP. The comment did make me laugh. I feel like now we have three young ones the timing of these thinks have been sucking. We had one kid with RSV over thanksgiving and two kids with the flu over Xmas. We even kept the middle one out of pre-K this week to avoid this. Ha. Best laid plans...

I’m glad you got a laugh. It is amazing how seriously some people take DCUM.

This. I would not cancel.

OUr 3yo was sick when we were in the DR a couple of years ago. We gave her tylenol as much as we could and had her sit by the pool with a tablet because she wasnt up to swimming, It kind of sucked but it was still a vacation and we made it work.

Wow. Poor kid couldn’t even lay down in a bed in the comfort of an air conditioned room?

I would pack fever meds just in case one develops - children's Advil and Tylenol which you can rotate if needed. That can be hard to find abroad. Unfortunately you can't give children that young Imodium but you can ask your pediatrician about children's pepto.

I would only cancel if this were the day of the flight. These bugs can last less than a day. The key is making sure none of the other kids get sick. Bring meds with you.

I would see how today goes. Keep everyone away from that kid and wash wash wash everyone’s hands and lots of Lysol.

Kids are weird. An errant puke happens. Don’t freak out yet. Give it until tomorrow night to decide. Maybe one parent can bring the kids and the other come with sickie later? What are the ages?

We are supposed to leave Sunday morning for a 5 night trip to Mexico. Our oldest of 3 has now been up twice throwing up (which leads me to believe bug and not just an upset stomach). Do we start trying to postpone Sunday’s flight assuming someone else is going to get it? Cancel the trip entirely? We are outside the cancellation window now and would clearly lose a ton of money. Ugh this kid hasn’t been sick once the entire school year!
