At least 2 Of these are not in purportedly safe areas. Do you live in DC?
Do you ever venture beyond Friendship Heights or Tenleytown?
I assume you are referring to the one on NH? And maybe NOMA? They obviously have issues, but have we gotten so immune to violence that we take it as assumed daylight shootings are simply part of life? I doubt that’s what people paying current prices are envisioning.
Without missing the larger point of this thread ....
“I bought for an inflated, frothy high price” =/= “safe area”.
Wishing it were so doesn’t make it so. Millennials having babies in the neighborhood doesn’t automatically make it so. Pop-up cider bars don’t make it so.

Which ones?

We could reverse the Republican Supreme Court’s decision that rolled back the District’s gun laws.
That would help law enforcement.
But the five Republicans on the Supreme Court are too tied to gun identity politics to get votes for GOP donors to think about changing Heller.
You mean back when the homicide rate in DC was through the roof?
There are tons of assault rifles in my neighborhood and nobody is getting killed. Why is that?

That’s part of the problem, but the whole country is governed by the current gun laws. The whole country doesn’t have these problems.
But, much of the country actually enforced the laws it has. It doesn’t have the Youth Act and other catch and release programs for even serious crimes and for those well beyond the typical definition of youth. It doesn’t disband police units that are actually having a positive impact as part of a social justice experiment. It doesn’t focus on restorative justice and “violence interruptors “ instead of actual police work and punishment.
It is easy to simply blame everything on the Republicans, but that is a complete cop out because programs on the left also significantly contribute to this problem.
